Free parking close to William Paterson University

Our family used a parking space in front of the college. It was free, but could only hold around 10 cars, and there were some times when you had to wait for a spot. A winter hike that we took our seven-year-old daughter on. The course follows the red markers from the start, then the yellow, then on to High Mountain summit. The hike is 1.5 miles round trip (around 2.5 km). The trail is fairly smooth, but the footing is loose in places, and places where you have to walk across stones. At the summit, you can see Manhattan in the distance, and makes for a great view on a clear day. Also, like in the picture, at night lights are lit in the shape of a star, and there is a large American flag painted on a stone, and I think getting to the top will give the kids a sense of accomplishment. Rather than calling this a special hike, it was more one we went on when we had some time. There are no restrooms near the trailhead, so I recommend making a pit stop in town on the way there (we stopped at a pharmacy).

我が家は大学前の駐車場スペースを利用しました。無料ですが、車が10台も停めれるかどうかぐらいなので、時間帯によっては待つこともあると思います。7歳の娘を連れての冬のハイキング。スタートから赤→黄→ハイマウントサミットのコース。トータル1.5マイル、約2.5kmほど。基本平坦な道ですが、足場がゆるいところや、石の上を歩くような場所があります。頂上では、マンハッタンを遠くにみることができるので、天気のいい日にはいい景色が見えるはず。そして、写真のように、夜になると山の頂で光っている星のライト、岩に大きくペイントされた星条旗があるので、子供には達成感を一つ味わえるポイントになると思います。特別なハイキングっていうより、時間見つけたから行ってみようか？というぐらい、カジュアルなハイキングコースです。
トイレは近くにないので、行く前に街の中でお店をみつけてすませておくことをおすすめします。（我が家はドラッグストアを利用しました）
