The Guise of Another

Here is the review of The Guise of Another by Allen Eskens. This is the sequel to The Life We Bury though, I think you can read only this book without the 1st book.
Alexander Rupert, a Minnesota detective is now under subpoena by a grand jury on suspicion of corruption. He’s been reassigned to the Frauds Unit. James Putnam dies in a tragic car accident, however it turns out he is not James Putnam at all. Alexander tries to solve the case to get his reputation back before the trial. You will see Max Rupert who is from The Life We Bury and they are brothers.
It is thrilling that Alexander corrects the puzzles to solve the case though, please wait until the end of the book because I think Max is the hope of this book actually.

The Guise of Another by Allen Eskensの感想を書きます。この本は、The Life We Buryの続編になりますが、別物と考えていいと思います。
ミネソタ州の刑事アレクサンダー・ルパートは、汚職の疑いで大陪審から召喚状を受けており、現在は詐欺課で配属されています。ジェームズ・パットナムが交通事故で死亡する事件が起きますが、ジェームズと思ってた人は他人であることが判明します。一体誰がジェームズ・パットナムに扮していたのか？本当のジェームズはどこで何をしているのか？アレクサンダーは汚名をはらすために、事件の解決に挑みます。一巻に出てきた刑事のマックス・ルパートは、アレクサンダーと兄弟であることが分かります。
事件解決に向けて捜査をすすめていく過程は、ミステリー小説が好きな人にとって、いい点だと思います。一巻にでてきた刑事のマックス・スパートは、アレクサンダーの兄であり、本の最後に弟を救おうとする彼の姿勢に、こうご期待！
