The Fourth Monkey 

Here is the review of The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barker. I heard this book is page turner, so I decided to read it.
The story begins with the death of the man known as The Fourth Monkey Killer, a killer that has terrorized Chicago for the last 5 years. As the lead investigator on the 4MK task force, Detective Sam Porter knows even in death, the killer is far from finished. When he discovers a personal diary in the jacket pocket of the body, Porter finds himself caught up in the mind of a psychopath, unraveling a twisted history in hopes of finding one last girl, all while struggling with personal demons of his own.
The author wrote it well so sometimes it is graphic. I had goosebumps several times. It is filled with twists and turns the reader will never see coming. If you like mystery, you might enjoy this.

The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barkerの感想を書きます。読みだしたら止まらないという感想をよく目にしたので、読んでみることにしました。
日光東照宮の三猿の名前から派生した「第四の猿殺し」と呼ばれる男の死から始まります。この男は過去5年間、シカゴを恐怖に陥れてきた殺人犯です。5年間この事件を捜査していたサム・ポーター刑事は、犯人が死んだ後も、事件はまだ終わっていないと悟り、捜査をはじめます。手掛かりは、遺体に残されていた日記やレシート、コインなど。それをもとに、一人の少女を救い出すために自分の過去と向き合いながら真相を明かします。
表現が細かいので、読みながら現場を想像すると寒気がするときが多々ありました。テンポがよく、最後に驚く展開があるので、ミステリー小説が好きな人も楽しめると思います。
