Here is the review of My Friends by Fredrik Backman. This book was written by The #1 New York Times bestselling author, so I decided to read it.

Is it too early in the year to pick my favorite read of 2026? I really like it. It was a deep look into grief and life, while also tackling friendship & family. Also, there are a lot of quotes that I want to remember in my life. I didn’t want the book to come to an end. Highly recommend it if you like a book focusing on friendships.

世界で最も有名な絵画の一つ、海のそばにある長い桟橋の端に座る3人の人物が描かれた絵のポスターを、ルイザは母から幼少のころに受け取っていました。そのオリジナルがまさか自分のものになるとは、当時思ってもみませんでしたが、18歳になったルイザはオリジナルの作品の所有者になります。そして、この絵は25年前に描かれたものであること、そして3人の人物が誰なのか、一体どうやってこの絵が描かれたかを、絵を通して学び始めます。ルイザは、ハッピーエンドが必ずしも私たちが期待するような形をとるわけではないことを知りますが、この小説は友情や芸術とは何か、永遠の力とは何かを証明する物語です。
2026年が始まったばかりですが、今年一番の本だった！って宣言するのは早すぎでしょうか？それぐらい、読んでよかったと思える一冊でした。悲しみや人生を深く見つめながら、友情と家族について深く掘り下げた内容でした。そして、忘れられなくなるような明言がたくさんありました。読みながら終わってほしくないと思ったほどです。友情に焦点を当てた本を読みたい人におすすめです。
