The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches

Here is the review of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna.
Main character, Mika Moon, is a witch living in Britain. She has been trying to hide her magic power and to move from place to place in order to protect her secret. One day, she receives a mysterious email from a man who watches her social media. She does just “play” in the movies. No one was supposed to realize how close to the truth those posts were. She decides to go see him cautiously.
It was a cozy and light book. I think you can learn from her how important it is to face myself, to think about what to do in the future and to take a step to grab the dream.

主人公は、イギリスに住む魔女のミカ・ムーンです。ミカは魔力があることを隠すよう育てられ、住む場所を転々とし、人と深く関わらないよう生活していました。そんなある日、SNSにあるミカが「演じた魔女のビデオ」を見て、不思議な招待状がメールにて送られてきます。本当の魔女であることを今まで誰にも見破られたことはないのですが、招待状を送ってくれた人は、ミカが魔女であるとわかっているようでした。ミカは恐る恐るその招待状に書かれたアドレスに行ってみることにします。
話はとても読みやすく、ほほえましい感じがありました。ミカが自分と向き合い、自分が本当にしたいことは何なのか、そしてそれを実現するためにはどうしたらいいのか、考え、支えられ、成長していく過程をみれることです。主人公が魔女だけど、読み手自身も考えるいいきっかけを与えてくれると思います。
