Winter Street

Here is the review of Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand. This book is a fiction novel about Holiday seasons in Nantucket, MA. 
Kelley Quinn is the owner of Nantucket’s Winter Street Inn and the proud father of four, all of them grown and living in varying states. Patrick, the eldest, is a hedge fund manager with a guilty conscience. Kevin, a bartender, is secretly sleeping with a French housekeeper named Isabelle. Ava, a school teacher, is finally dating the perfect guy but can’t get him to commit. And Bart, the youngest and only child of Kelley’s second marriage to Mitzi, has recently shocked everyone by joining the Marines. The story begins with Mitzi leaving home with a man who has been Santa Claus at the inn’s annual party. In this book, each of them take charge in chapters.
I recommend remembering their name and relationship in their family so that you won’t get lost. It’s fun to connect something through the chapters.
If you want to feel festive mode or to read something heartwarming, this book will be the one to read.

この本は、クリスマスの時期を舞台にした小説で、マサチューセッツ州にあるナンタケット島に住んでいる家族の物語です。
ナンタケット島にある、ウィンターストリートインのオーナー、ケリー・クインは、4人の子供の父親です。子供たちはもう大きくなって巣立っています。長男は、パトリック。ヘッジファンドマネージャ。次男はケビン。過去の恋愛で辛い思いをしたけど、現在はバーテンダーとして働きながら、家族に内緒でインで働いているイサベラと交際中。長女のアヴァはハンサムな彼氏ができたけど、結婚を申し込まれなくて葛藤中。そして最後にバート。異母兄弟で、ケリーの再婚者ミッチとの間にできた子。海軍に入隊してみんなを驚かせました。これらの人たちが、章ごとに主人公になって話が進んでいきます。登場人物が少なくないので、最初は誰が誰なのか、どういう関係なのか、しっかりおさえましょう。クリスマスモードを味わいたいとき、カジュアルに何か読みたいとき、ちょっとしたラブストーリー、ヒューマンドラマを読みたいときにおすすめです。
