Pen Pal

Here is the review of Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger. I decided to read it because I just wanted to read something light after reading Fox.
Kayla has so much to deal with. She’s lost her husband, her house is falling apart and she’s beginning to entertain the idea that she might be haunted. The only thing holding her together for the moment is Aidan, a handyman she calls to help fix her leaking roof. The two have explosive chemistry and fall for each other hard and fast. Her grief (and ghost!) are in the way of the two really being together! When she tries to deal with it things take a turn that I wasn’t ready for. There is a big twist in the end.
I like mysteries, but not paranormal stories. So, I was about to stop reading this in the middle, but I kept reading it. As I mentioned, there is a twist in the end. I gave a wry smile. My advice is to just be patient.

Pen Pal by J.T. Geissingerの感想を書きます。前回読んだFoxが重い話だったので、軽めのロマンス兼ミステリー小説が読みたくて選びました。
ケイラは夫を亡くし、家は古くて崩壊しつつあり、彼女は幽霊に悩まされているのではないかと考え始めます。そんなケイラのよりどころは、雨漏りの屋根を修理してもらうために呼んだ便利屋のエイデン。二人はあっという間に恋に落ちます。しかし、彼女の深い悲しみ（そして幽霊！）が、二人の恋の邪魔をしていて、ケイラがそれに対処しようとすると、事態は予想外の展開を迎えます。
ミステリーではなく、超常現象的なストーリーになりかけて、読むのをやめようかと思いましたが、とりあえず最後まで根気よく読んでよかったかな。最後は、おもわぬ話のひねりがあり、驚きました。が、あまり評価は高くありません。
