Here is the review of Writers & Lovers by Lily King. I wanted to read Heart the Lover, but someone borrowed it from the library, so I just picked this from one of her books.
Casey Peabody, 31 years old, and working as a waitress in Cambridge, has a very full plate. She has been writing for six years to seek her dream although nearly all her old friends have let go of: the determination to live a creative life. When she falls for two very different men at the same time, her world fractures even more.
When I read the caption, I was looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately, it irritated me because Casey is too irresolute and unconfident. It sounds like a realistic depiction of a young woman’s struggles to dream come true, but this just wasn’t for me.

Writers & Lovers by Lily Kingの感想を書きます。本当はHeart the Loverを読みたかったのですが、図書館で誰かが借りていたので、とりあえず同じ作者の本で、借りることができたこの本を選びました。
主人公のケイシーは、31歳で、6年もかけて小説を書いています。旧友は結婚したり、夢をあきらめ新しい道を進みだしている中、ケイシーは自分の夢を捨てられません。そんな中、二人の男性に恋をしたケイシーの世界は、思わぬ方向に崩れていきます。
あらすじを読んだとき、おもしろそうと思ったのですが、決断力がない、自信がないケイシーにいら立ちを感じながら読みました。むしろそれが現実味を帯びていいのかもしれませんが、個人的には何がいいのか理解できませんでした。
