The Return of Ellie Black

Here is the review of The Return of Ellie Black by Emiko Jean who is one of the New York Times bestseller authors.
There are several elements such as love, pain, anguish, violence, and freedom in this book. Chelsey Calhoun’s sister vanished and died when she was teenager and she became a detective. She has been investigating Ellie Black who was kidnapped two years ago. One day, Ellie was found in a mountain by hikers all of sudden.
The more Chelsey asks Ellie how she was able to escape, where she has been and who was the kidnapper, the more she thinks Ellie is hiding something.
I couldn’t stop turning pages until the last and couldn’t believe how the story ended. Depending on the person, it might be difficult to read this because there are some abuse scenes in it. I re-realize love also has an evil side. Tense and suspenseful, the mood overall was very dark with small sparks of hope throughout.

誘拐されたエリーはどうやって、逃げ出したのか。今までどこにいたのか。犯人を捕まえるために、エリーから真相をさぐろうとすればするほど、エリーが何かを隠しているようにしか思えず、チェルシーは疑問を抱き始めます。
最後は、予想もしていなかった展開になり、手に焦る握る結果となりました。最初から最後まで緊張感のある本でしたが、その中にもいろんな形の希望が入っています。
