Le French Dad caught my eye when I went to a restaurant next to it. It is a cute name, isn’t it? I like French style bakery and pastry so I couldn’t help stopping by it. According to the website, they are a family run, artisanal bakery. Their focus is on naturally leavened, French rustic breads and viennoiseries using only natural ingredients. I couldn’t focus on my lunch at that time.
I felt like there were more viennoiseries like croissants more than leavened bread and it seemed their croissants were popular. I re-baked it at home to enjoy the crunchy layer. I wish I could have tasted a slightly salted butter on the top, but I know croissants contain a lot of butter already. I guess it is okay as it is. As for viennoiseries, there are apple turnover and kouign-amann and so on. I’d like to try their buckwheat country bread next time.
I also found that they have some local-partners and you can also enjoy their stuff there.
By the way, I saw a T-shirt drawing two men holding baguettes, ‘Baguette, or die?’. I like this sense of humor!

ベーカリー好きな私が見つけたのは、こちらのLe French Dadという、愛らしい名前のお店です。隣接するレストランに行った際、ショーウィンドウをみて存在に気づいたのが始まりです。名前の通り、フランス菓子、パンを扱っているので、ルヴァンのパンが食べれると心躍りました。
店内に入ると、ルヴァンというよりクロワッサンをはじめとする、ヴィエノワズリー（菓子パン）が目に入りました。特にクロワッサンは、一押しのようです。私はあまりクロワッサンを食べませんが、今回は食べてみました。軽く家でトーストして食べると、外側はサクサク、内側にはきれいな層がありました。個人的には、もう少しバターの芳醇な香りと味が楽しめたらいいなーと思いましたが、カロリーのことを考えるとこのぐらいでいいのかもしれません。大きさもあるので、おなかも膨れます。
そして、デニッシュ生地にりんごをのせたアップルタルト、クイニーアマンといった菓子パンもあるので、お子さん連れにもおすすめです。次訪れるときは、そば粉のカンパーニュを購入したいと思っています。
またこちらのパートナーとして、いくつかお店があるみたなので、パートーナー店に行かれる際は、ここのパンやデザートを楽しめるのではないでしょうか。最後に、バゲットを剣にして、フェンシングをしているデザインのTシャツがありました。日本へのお土産とかにいいかもしれませんね。
