Garden Spells

Here is the review of Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen. I found this book as I was looking for a book for the fall season.
The Waverleys have always been a curious family, endowed with peculiar gifts that make them outsiders even in their hometown of Bascom, North Carolina. There is an apple tree in their backyard, which has mysterious power. Clare is a successful caterer because her food contains her plants like herbs and edible flowers from the backyard which has magic.
One day, her sister, Sydney returns to the home with her daughter all of a sudden. Sydney left the town a long time ago and didn’t contact at all until then. Claire’s quiet life is turned upside down and starts to realize what she left behind in her life and to come to understand what Sydney has gotten through her life. They are together again in the house they grew up in.
This book is magical and heartwarming, a story about love, family. If you like herbs, you might enjoy it as well. Overall, you can read this book all season, not in fall particularly.

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allenの感想を書きます。秋っぽい本が読みたいなと探していた時に、この本に出会いました。
ノースカロライナ州バスコムという小さな町に住んでいる、ウェイバリーズ家の人々には不思議な力があり、代々庭にあるりんごの木を大切にしてきました。クレアは、庭で育てている植物を使って、ケータリング事業をして生計をたてています。植物にも魔法がやどっているので、パーティごとに使う植物を選定します。クレアの妹シドニーが、町を出て何も音沙汰がなかったのですが、あるとき娘を連れて、クレアが住むウェイバリーズ家の家に戻ってきます。今まで一人で静かに暮らしていたクレアの生活に変化が起き、クレア自身も今までの人生で欠けていたのは何だったのかを学んでいきます。
心温まるヒューマンドラマ、家族ドラマが好きな人におすすめです。あと、どの花にどんな意味があるのか好きな人にとってもおもしろいとおもいます。
